JERWIN Ancajas had a friendly message to Israel Gonzalez when their paths crossed again a day after the Filipino knocked out his Mexican foe to retain his International Boxing Federation (IBF) super-flyweight crown.
“Sabi ni Jerwin, bata pa siya at malaki pa ang tsansa na maging world champion,” said trainer-manager Joven Jimenez as he recounted the chance encounter between the two fighters at the Houston airport on Monday.
Ancajas and his entourage were on their way back to Los Angeles, while Gonzalez and his team were wating for their flight to Mexico.
“Yun lang. Tapos nag-wish lang si Jerwin ng good luck sa career niya,” added Jimenez.
