BOXING GREAT Manny Pacquiao is demanding $US20 million for his next bout but the promoters of Brisbane’s “Fighting Schoolteacher’’ Jeff Horn are still confident they can lure the Filipino whirlwind to Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium for a superfight this winter.

Horn is the No.2 contender for Pacquiao’s WBO welterweight title and the world champ’s promoter Bob Arum wants him in the opposite corner when Pacquiao makes his farewell to boxing this year after 22 years as a professional fighter.

Pacquiao, 38, who is also one of the leading politicians in the Philippines, wants $20 million to defend his world 67kg title against America’s world 63kg champ Terence Crawford in April.

But despite the champ’s huge asking price, Horn’s promoter Dean Lonergan of Auckland-based Duco Events, says he is pressing ahead with plans to bring Pacquiao to Brisbane, possibly to coincide with the third State of Origin match on July 12.
