Manny Pacquiao may have incurred the most number of absences at the House of Representatives but this time, he will devote his time to his tasks as a senator, his camp said Tuesday.
Pacquiao’s Media Officer Aquiles Zonio said Pacquiao will focus on his legislative tasks because there will no longer be any distractions.
“Senator Manny is here in General Santos and he is preparing to attend his first Senate session on July 1. He did not discuss any boxing return yet,” Zonio told The Manila Times in a phone interview.
Pacquiao, 37, retired in April after scoring a unanimous decision win against Timothy Bradley.
Zonio said the senator-elect will “focus more on sports development and others.”
“He mentioned a lot of things before like helping fellow athletes, but nothing is specific yet. He will be present in most hearings and sessions as senator now since he is no longer committed to boxing,” he added.
