Perth boxer Brandon Ogilvie required eight stitches over his left eye following his bruising tussle against Japan’s Yoshitaka Kato in Tokyo on Monday which finished in a draw.
The three judges all scored the 10-round bout 95-95, with Ogilvie claiming the home fighter was allowed to use his head throughout without having points deducted.
A post-fight picture posted on Facebook showed Ogilvie, ranked No.10 by the World Boxing Association, sporting a nasty gash over his eye.
“I got my eye opened up pretty bad and they never took no points off him for the four head butts,” the WBA Oceania lightweight champion said on the social media site.
“I feel like a broken down man at the moment but it’s good we had one of the WBA people there to watch and they had me up seven rounds to three.
